Overview
A Major Inspection is a detailed, standards-mandated assessment of a crane or elevated work platform carried out at defined intervals (typically 10 years, or as the design life requires). It involves dismantling, cleaning and NDT of critical structural and mechanical components to confirm the machine can safely continue in service.
NDT Australia conducts major inspections to AS 2550 and AS 1418, combining eddy current, magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing with engineering assessment and formal certification.
