Overview

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) magnetises a ferromagnetic component and applies fine iron particles; where a crack disrupts the magnetic field, the particles gather and make the defect visible. It is a rapid, reliable method for detecting surface-breaking and slightly sub-surface cracks in welds and steel components.
