Overview

Ultrasonic Testing (UT) transmits high-frequency sound waves through a material; reflections from internal discontinuities or the back wall are timed and measured to locate flaws and gauge thickness. It is one of the most versatile NDT methods, capable of finding sub-surface cracks, laminations, inclusions and corrosion that surface methods cannot detect.

NDT Australia deploys both conventional pulse-echo UT and phased array (PAUT) where complex geometry or detailed flaw sizing is required. Results are recorded digitally, giving you traceable evidence of weld quality and remaining wall thickness.
