AS 2550 — Cranes, Hoists & Winches (Safe Use)

Overview

AS 2550 is an Australian Standard series addressing safe use, inspection and maintenance of cranes, hoists and winches. The relevant part, inspection extent and timing depend on equipment type, manufacturer information, design life, duty and service history.

NDT Australia can use the relevant AS 2550 guidance as part of an agreed crane or EWP inspection scope. The standard reference does not by itself establish a universal interval or mean that an inspection automatically certifies continued operation.
